How to Install and Use Neofetch on Ubuntu

Neofetch is a CLI Based Tool tool that displays system-related information in a presentation format. With a Short command, you can “fetch” all sorts of information about your system, from the Linux kernel version number to how long it’s been running (“uptime”). 



Neofetch is a tool I personally use in my daily life.

What Things It Shows on CLI

It shows various system information like 

  • ASCII Logo of your Linux Distribution.
  • Linux Distribution Name
  • Your Computer Name
  • Kernel-Version of  Linux
  • Uptime 
  • Available Packages
  • Shell Version
  • Resolution
  • Gui Type 
  • GUI Theme
  • Defaults icon
  • Default Terminal
  • CPU
  • GPU
  • Memory
  • Screen Colors

How to install Neofetch

You can install Neofetch on Ubuntu in a number of ways.

If you use Ubuntu 16.10 or later you can download Neofetch direct from the Ubuntu Software store.


Or

You Can install This Thing in Terminal by following only two steps.

Step 1

sudo apt-get update

Step 2

sudo apt-get install Neofetch

Enter your Password it will download the full software it is under 1MB.

How to Use It?

Just Goto in the terminal by pressing ctrl+shift+t and type neofetch.
